Also called the Arenga Palm, this palm features a short and wide growth pattern, making it an excellent alternative to a tropical shrub.

Water Requirements: Moderate. Keep moist, do not allow the soil to dry out.

Soil: Thrives in rich soil that is kept uniformly moist. Tolerant of poor soil conditions as long as it is well-drained.

Growth Rate: Moderate

Bloom Time: Highly fragrant reddish-orange flowers in mid summer.

Temperature: Hardy to 20 F.

Toxicity: Fruit is toxic.
