Toxodium distichum

Known for its “Cypress Knees”, Bald Cypress features feathery foliage and is highly tolerant of wet conditions.

Water Requirements: Moderate water needs. Flood and Drought Tolerant.

Soil: Widely adaptable to many soils.

Growth Rate: Moderate, up to 2 feet per year

Temperature: Highly cold and heat hardy. Deciduous in winter!

Pruning: Not necessary.

Tips: Bald Cypress is great to plant in soggy areas, or near a water feature! It may produce “Cypress Knees”, which are adventitious roots that come up at the surface.
