Aloe Vera is a low maintenance, highly versatile plant with tons of benefits!
Water Requirements: Low water needs. Prefers to be watered regularly, but is also drought tolerant. Avoid watering in winter during dormancy.
Soil: Sandy, rocky soil that drains well.
Growth Rate: Moderate
Bloom Time: Summer, but only once they are mature, at around 4 years old. Young Aloe Vera plants will not bloom.
Temperature: Not cold hardy, should be covered below 40 F
Pruning: Leaves can be removed at any time, but avoid harvesting too frequently!
Toxicity: Aloe Vera spikes can be mildly toxic.
Tips: If you want to move Aloe Vera to different lighting conditions, do so but do so slowly- it can be shocked and either sunburn or wilt if moved too quickly.
